This account of my five-week road trip into Mexico has been written as remembered, nearly two years after it occurred. The idea of writing a travel memoir occurred to me on a warm and sunny day in late June of 2019, cutting grass at a little nine-hole golf course here in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The process of recollection was like opening a spigot; memories of brilliant clarity poured forth, completely absorbing my attention as I feverishly penned page after page in my notebook—after work of course.
